Being one of the most used browsers, Chrome’s dark mode is long awaited. Google introduced the public dark mode on Apple devices recently. Not to worry even if you are a windows user. You can get the dark mode on your windows pc today, but with a catch. For now, this feature only works on the Canary version (a beta version) of Chrome. Since the feature is long overdue, Google developers created a command flag through which other developers get an early hands-on of the feature and give a few suggestions on it. So, let’s get started on how to enable Chrome dark mode on windows today
Step 1: Download the latest version of Google Chrome Canary.
Step 2: Right click on the shortcut created on the desktop and click on properties.
Step 3: Edit the Target Tab and add “–force-dark-mode ” at the end. [Without the inverted commas]
Step 4: Click on “Apply” and then “Okay”.
That’s it, That’s all you need to do to activate the Dark mode Chrome on your windows pc. After you’ve followed these easy steps, this is how it will look. You might notice that the dark mode looks very similar to the incognito mode of Chrome.
The official dark modes for the browser from Microsoft, the Microsoft edge was released back in April 2018. After this update from Microsoft, Google Chrome was expected to release a version for the chrome soon. But due to some bugs in the programme, the release was postponed. Although we will definitely see a version from Google later this year, the delay can’t be speculated.
